From the oldest Disney ship, Disney Magic, to the newest, Disney Wish, the cruise line has continued to raise the bar when it comes to dining on a cruise ship. One thing that makes Disney cruise dining stand out among its competitors is the line's rotational dining program. Throughout a sailing, guests rotate dinners through three main Disney cruise restaurants, and their service team moves with them.
Palo Dinner
Note that all of the Disney cruise ships also offer room service (included in the cost of your cruise) and menus at the Cabanas. Some entrée options are roasted duck breast, three-cheese lobster macaroni, or “Lumiere’s” seared sea bass. Each of the cruise ships has Rotational Dining, which means that guests rotate between three main restaurants (bringing their wait staff with them) for dinner during their cruise. If a restaurant is part of Rotational Dining, we’ll note that in its description. Other restaurants are available for different mealtimes or as alternatives to the Rotational Dining schedule.
Restaurants on the Disney Dream
Outside on the pool deck of Disney Magic, Duck-In Diner dishes out lunch and snacks to hungry cruisers. The menu here is a fun mix of American favorites like burgers and dogs, plus Middle Eastern-inspired shawarma wrapped in a warm pita. I love the shawarma because you can see it rotating on a vertical spit right behind the counter and load up your sandwich with your favorite toppings. If you're looking for something heartier, try the carving station near the back of the buffet. The classic kids menu options of macaroni and cheese and chicken strips are readily available as well. Be sure to find the towering piles of crab legs and poached shrimp that grace the buffet line as well.
Cruises

Remember, the key is to communicate your needs in advance, and Disney will do its best to accommodate you. Main Rotational Dining Menus
Most menus, such as the Animator’s Palate menu shown below in the screenshot, have historical versions as well as alternative version such as Allergy-Friendly, Foreign Language, and Regional Inspirations. It starts with some time at the lounge, where you are given a glass of Champagne and a Chef’s choice amuse bouche (basically a small appetizer bite). The menu at Worlds of Marvel is inspired by some of the cuisines from your favorite super hero films. There are dishes that take inspiration from “African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia” and even New York.
As for the offerings, we’ll be sipping and snacking on creative cocktails, specialty coffees, and signature beignets. The third restaurant is 1923, and it takes guests on a journey through the evolution of animation! Named after the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, 1923 will serve up California eats that are light, fresh, and flavorful.
Royal Court Royal Tea (Dining Experience)
The dining room is set to look like a ballroom with glowing lanterns to light the tables. Room service is included for free on Disney cruises (except for specialty items noted below), but be sure to tip. I typically tip $2 per item ordered, but do whatever you’re comfortable with.

Animator's Palate
Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, is a tropical paradise with great food as well. The art deco-style restaurant is themed after "The Little Mermaid," with a mural of Ariel and King Triton, plus a bronze statue of Ariel just outside the restaurant. Exclusive to Disney Wonder is Tiana's Place, part of the rotational dining roster on the ship. The restaurant is themed after the Disney animated movie "The Princess and the Frog," with a menu that highlights Creole and Cajun cooking. While enjoying your dinner, you'll also be entertained by a live jazz band playing songs from the movie and other instrumental melodies.
